NCAMN Trail Patrol
January 4 @ 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
Trail Maintenance on Buffalo River Trail. The National Park Service asked NCAMN to clear 13 miles of BRT, to ready the trail for the upcoming Buffalo River Biathlon and Trail Marathon events. The BRT is challenging and beautiful. We will clear three sections on different days. The first section is Dillards Ferry to Spring Creek Road, 6.1 miles linear. The second section is Spring Creek Rd to South Maumee Road, 5.3 miles linear. The third section is 2 miles from South Maumee Rd to Little Rocky Creek.
Bring a sack lunch and plenty of water as we will work from 9AM to 2 or 3 PM and have lunch on the trail.
This first BRT section is six miles length, Dillards Ferry to Spring Creek Road. NPS will shuttle us to the middle of the trail in a van, in order to reduce walking distance.
Location and directions. Park at the expansive parking area at Dillards Ferry, under the Highway 14 Bridge at the Buffalo River. From Yellville, drive 17 miles 22 minutes south on Highway 14, cross the bridge, you can turn either left or right to enter the parking field. There is a toilet near the boat launch.
