CAMN* General Meeting – Protecting Arkansas’s Aquatic Heritage

Our speaker will be Dustin Lynch, an aquatic biologist with the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission. 

Title:  Protecting Arkansas’s Aquatic Heritage 

This talk will explore the role the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission plays in the conservation of imperiled species and communities in the state, with a focus on rare aquatic species. Dustin will explain how the ANHC fits into the broader context of the Natural Heritage Network, how rare species conservation ranks are assigned, and how they prioritize species for protection. He will give case studies of some rare aquatic species in the state of Arkansas and the unique challenges facing them.

Meeting begins with pizza at 6:30.  Please register if you’d like pizza.  Speaker begins at 7 pm.  Bring your own beverage.
