Bell Slough, meeting, speaker, and trail work hike

Today, October 21 several members of FAMN visited the nature trail at Bell Slough.

For many it was their first visit to this lovely area.

Tom Nowlin presided at a short chapter meeting, giving curriculum plans, financial report, and events results.  During the meeting we noshed on Grace’s wonderful snacks.

Dave Danner, a member of CAMN who lives in the area, gave a great presentation on Bell Slough.  He discussed the history, size, animals and birds, trees, etc in the area.

Linda Saylor, past member of CAMN and active member of Master Gardeners, took us on a wildflower/native plant walk along the trail.  We all brought our maintenance tools.  Three members, Bob, Charles, and Bonnie weed eated and blew off a lot of the debris and leaves that had accumulated.  Several of us cleaned the signage along the trail.

It was such a nice afternoon and we hope to go back in the spring.
