AMN Annual Meeting and Training

Mother Nature smiled on the Arkansas Master Naturalists who attended the annual meeting on Petit Jean Mountain April 7 & 8.  Early registrants who arrived on Friday evening were greeted by perfect weather, a spectacular view from the grounds of Camp Mitchell and a delicious food spread.  The Friday night crowd got to enjoy the Decade Project slide presentation created by Karen Seale, as well as a very entertaining experience stargazing with Debra Burris.

Bright and early Saturday morning, the classes kicked off.  Registration gurus, Marilyn Vaughan and Richard Lawrence, helped everyone find their classes.

Karen Rader likes the swag bag!

Saturday classes took place both on the grounds in the buildings of Camp Mitchell, as well as on the ground of Petit Jean State Park.  More than 100 attendees plus numerous volunteers enjoy this beautiful weekend!

At the annual meeting, Steve Sampers was recognized with the President’s Award and Bert Turner was recognized as the State Master Naturalist of the Year.  Congratulations to both deserving honorees!
